The Research Centre is operated by the University of Iceland and the University of Akureyri. Its home is at the School of Education University of Iceland
The centre was established on May 21st 2013. The main aims of the Research Centre is to conduct research on creativity in school work on all school levels, host events, take part in conferences and meetings to present knowledge on creativity in education. The centre offers a setting for and takes part in discussions on creative school work and takes on relevent projects related to creativity in education. We intend to develop an arena for masters and doctoral students to take part in research and conduct studies the centre takes on.

The research group RASKA is conducting a research on creative teaching and learning on four school levels from autumn 2013 to autumn 2015. RASKA got a research grant from the University of Iceland Research Fund. Two of the centres board members are participants in the research Svanborg R. Jónsdóttir and Edda Kjartansdóttir. Svanborg leads the research, which is an action research on preschool-, compulsory, upper-secondary and university level.
