VIERKO – Language support and inclusion in vocational education and training in Finland

Hanna Järvisalo and Tuija Takala will be sharing their experiences, ideas and thoughts about themes related to language awareness, L2 teaching, reading and literacy in education.

VIERKO is a development network for providers of Vocational Education and Training in Finland. VIERKO’s goal is to develop language-aware education and guidance, and to improve opportunities for studying Finnish and Swedish as a second languages. VIERKO is a project funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland and the project is ongoing until May 2027.

In VIERKO we have created materials in the following list. The list includes links to Library of Open Educational Resources that is maintained by the Finnish National Agency for Education. The materials are in Finnish and some in Swedish but might give you the glance into materials developed or will be developed January 2024 – May 2027.
