Silvie will present the Czech Language Teaching and Learning Research Group at the faculty, along with the activities and projects they undertake within the context of the Czech educational system. Following the introduction, her talk will focus on Czech language teachers and the challenges they face in accommodating linguistic diversity in primary schools. The presentation will conclude with a space for discussion, inviting attendees to share their insights, questions, and experiences related to language teaching and learning.
Silvie Převrátilová is a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Her research centers on the dynamics of motivation and plurilingualism in language acquisition, with a particular focus on Czech as a second language. In addition to her research and teaching roles, she is involved in developing educational materials for adults and young learners and leads teacher professional development workshops. She is a member of the Czech Language Teaching and Learning Research Group and the Didactic Platform at her faculty.
